What We Do

We are a Short-Form Comedy Improv Troupe. Improv meaning that everything you  see in our shows is made up on the spot by our players based on suggestions from the audience, so please come ready to give ideas! Short-Form means that we do a series of 5-10 minute games in which two teams will be competing for points, and the team with the most points at the end of the show will win. These points will be awarded depending on the individual games.

If you plan on attending our shows we have a couple of important notes. Remember this is a live performance, so please turn all cell phones, tablets, mp3’s, walkie-talkies, and/or pagers on silent and please refrain from using them during the remainder of the show. Also, this is a 17+ show, meaning that any and all subject matter is fair game.

ABOUT THE TROUPE

Who We Are

On a dark and stormy night, President Dan Voinis sat in his luxurious dorm room chair and stared into a digital fireplace on his Mac. He felt a deep unhappiness in his heart. Despite his many accomplishments in his long and illustrious 19 years of life, he felt something was missing. He dozed off and in a dream his dentist's cousin's half-brother's wedding planner's pet-sitter came to him and spoke seven little words that changed his life forever. "Make a fool of yourself on stage."

Dan awoke revitalized and immediately took out his pager and MySpace-d his two head-ass "friends," Daniel Nori and Matthew Freeman. Together, our three heroes started on their journey to bring a new Comedy Improv troupe to the University of Texas at Austin.

Today, despite a rough road including three (3) flying chairs, a brief run-in with Animal Planet narrator Sir David Attenborough, and one too many instances of what kids these days call "ghosting," Har-D-Har has grown its membership and its audience- we hope you'll join one (or both!) of the groups above.
